2026 State of the City Address

Thanks to everyone who joined the State of the City! It’s your passion that makes Irvine such a great place to live, work, and grow. Let’s keep working together to make Irvine the safest, smartest, greenest, healthiest, and kindest City.

Great Park Development Update

This month, I joined community members at The Canopy to discuss plans for Irvine’s Great Park — including food, retail, cultural spaces, and an In-N-Out Burger! Thanks to everyone who shared feedback.

Save the date for upcoming meetings: May 5, August 4, and November 3, 2024. To learn more, visit cityofirvine.org.

Katie Wheeler Library Grand Opening

With the help of the Irvine Family and our community, the new Katie Wheeler Library is now open — an exciting step forward for accessible learning and connection. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating, and to our City staff for making it all possible. We invite you to experience this inspiring new space!

Read Across America Day

Spending time with the students at Deerfield Elementary was inspiring. Reading and seeing the pure joy and curiosity on the children’s faces reminded me of the profound impact that stories and literacy have on young minds. These moments are more than just about reading — they’re about planting seeds of imagination, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. In these busy times, it’s easy to forget how much a simple story can mean — to a child, it’s a window to new worlds.

Irvine Police Explorers

Thanks to the Boya Foundation, our Police Explorers now have a new van to serve and lead. This program gives teens hands-on leadership opportunities, shaping the community leaders of tomorrow. Together, we’re building a stronger Irvine — one young leader at a time.

City of Irvine Women's Conference

I had the pleasure of attending the City of Irvine’s Women’s Conference — an inspiring event celebrating women’s leadership and community strength. Topics like health, financial independence, and resilience sparked meaningful conversations. The resource expo showcased the incredible efforts of City programs and community partners. Excited for what’s ahead!

Join us for Mornings with the Mayor this Saturday, March 21! Stop by Irvine City Hall for coffee, donuts, and a chance to connect with your community.

Have questions? Bright ideas? Or just want to listen and learn? Everyone is welcome — bring a neighbor or a friend and join the conversation.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve enjoyed connecting with residents through meaningful community events, from celebrating unity at the Interfaith Iftar at the Islamic Center of Irvine to cheering on our young athletes at Northwood Little League Opening Day at Hicks Canyon Park, and visiting Edwards Lifesciences, a leader in medtech innovation that exemplifies Irvine’s vibrant, forward-thinking spirit. These moments highlight the strength, diversity, and innovation that define our community, and I’m proud to be part of this dynamic neighborhood where collaboration and connection thrive.
