Join me Saturday, October 17, from 9 to 10 a.m. for Mornings with the Mayor. Ask questions, share ideas, or simply stop by to say hello. Everyone is welcome — come enjoy a donut and cider, and let’s talk about Irvine’s future!

Irvine Civic Youth Initiative

Irvine’s next generation of civic leaders is getting started. The Fall 2026 Irvine Civic Youth Initiative cohort is underway! Ninth-, tenth-, and eleventh-graders from Beckman, Harvard-Westlake, Irvine, Northwood, OCSA, University, and Woodbridge are exploring how local government works — and discovering how they can help shape Irvine’s future.

Their curiosity and enthusiasm are already inspiring. We can’t wait to see Cohort 3 grow into engaged citizens and community leaders.

Celebrating 50 Years

Congratulations to the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association (SCCCA) on its golden anniversary. Founded in 1976 as the Irvine Chinese School, SCCCA has spent five decades preserving Chinese heritage, sharing cultural education, and bringing communities together. Since opening its permanent Irvine cultural center in 2005, SCCCA has continued to build a vibrant home for connection and learning. Here’s to 50 remarkable years — and to the generations still to come!

We’re proud to partner with Concordia and grateful for all it brings to education, culture, and our community.

Irvine Global Village Festival 25th Anniversary

On Saturday, we celebrated the 25th Annual Irvine Global Village Festival at the Great Park. The festival brought the community together for a vibrant day of music, food, culture, shopping, and connection.

Irvine’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and our unity is a source of pride. As one of the nation’s most diverse and integrated cities, Irvine shows how people from different backgrounds can come together to build a stronger, more connected community. Here’s to 25 years of celebrating the cultures and traditions that make Irvine so special!
