Mayor Larry Agran
Mayor Larry Agran has been a dynamic leader in Irvine since first joining the City Council in 1978, including six impactful years as Mayor. Under his leadership, Irvine earned national acclaim for pioneering initiatives in childcare, affordable housing, recycling, and open space preservation. A graduate of UC Berkeley and Harvard Law School, Mayor Agran has passionately championed community engagement, sustainability, and innovative city planning. He was instrumental in creating the iconic Orange County Great Park and remains dedicated to building a vibrant, diverse Irvine—one of America's safest, smartest, greenest, healthiest, and kindest cities. Mayor Agran warmly encourages young leaders and individuals from all backgrounds to actively shape an inclusive community where every voice matters.
