I was honored to join Hoag for the grand opening of the new Sun Family Campus, a cutting-edge expansion that will bring advanced medical care to families across Orange County. Since opening in 2010, Hoag Irvine has grown alongside our community, and this new campus — combining hospital and outpatient services — further enhances Irvine’s status as a hub of innovation and healthcare excellence. Congratulations to Hoag on this exciting milestone!
A Thoroughly Integrated Irvine!
This season, Irvine came together to celebrate the rich cultural traditions that make our community so vibrant. During Hispanic Heritage Month, we honored the contributions and history of our Hispanic and Latino neighbors through an official proclamation and Fiesta Latina at the Great Park. At the same time, we embraced the Mid-Autumn Festival with lanterns, mooncakes, and joyful gatherings, showcasing the diverse heritage that enriches our city. These celebrations bring us closer through shared traditions and cultural pride.
Nature Reserve of Orange County
This year, we celebrate 30 years of conservation and environmental stewardship by the Nature Reserve of Orange County (NROC). It was inspiring to join in honoring three decades of protecting nearly 38,000 acres of open space and 39 native species, ensuring cleaner water, wildfire protection, wildlife habitats, and outdoor enjoyment for our community. Celebrate this milestone by visiting a local park, exploring regional trails, or volunteering with NROC!
Irvine Spectrum Center SunWheel
The wait is finally over! The new 132-foot Spectrum SunWheel at Irvine Spectrum Center offers stunning views, vibrant LED lighting, and music, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Whether with family or friends, it’s a fantastic way to enjoy Irvine from above. Special thanks to Blake Windal, Ken Gillett, Brian Williams, and the entire team for bringing this exciting new attraction to our community!
