Irvine Dollars at Work: Progress You Can See

Big things are happening at Jamboree and Michelson! You may have seen the construction in progress — and we’re thrilled to share that a stunning 175-foot pedestrian and bicycle bridge is being built to transform safety and connectivity in our City. This new bridge will make crossing Jamboree Road safer and easier for pedestrians and cyclists, enhancing our community’s safety and mobility.

We thank you for your patience as we work to bring this exciting project to life! Stay informed about the latest Public Works and Sustainability projects by visiting: https://www.mayorlarryagran.org/s/Capital-Projects-Monthly-Report-February-2026.pdf.

Community Support and Connections

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been inspired by the many community members who are stepping up to make Irvine an even better place to live, work, and learn. I’m especially grateful to Malti and Mahesh Maheta, the Pacifica Institute, the Associated Students at UC Irvine, and the Irvine Valley College Economics Club for their leadership and partnership.

Your commitment to service and civic engagement strengthens our City in meaningful ways. Thank you for being active partners in building a more connected and vibrant Irvine for everyone.

Interview Regarding CA Proposition 13

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Daniel and Zixin — two outstanding seventh graders from Rancho San Joaquin Middle School — for their National History Day podcast. Yes, seventh grade. They asked thoughtful questions about Proposition 13 and its impact on homeowners and property taxes, showing real curiosity about how policy shapes our communities. Their visit was a powerful reminder that civic learning starts early. Thank you, Daniel, and Zixin. Irvine’s future is in good hands.
