Tree Planting at the Great Park

Last week, I was thrilled to join my Council colleagues in planting a series of Heritage Coast Live Oak Trees at the Great Park, contributing to our City's commitment to environmental sustainability. These large and mature trees will provide ample shade, creating spaces to gather and enjoy picnics as soon as they are planted. As one of my favorite proverbs goes, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the second-best time is now!"

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County

I had the pleasure of welcoming the Hassan family at their home dedication ceremony. As homeownership costs continue to rise, the City of Irvine’s partnerships with organizations like Habitat OC become more critical. This celebration is a testament to our commitment to affordable housing in the City of Irvine.

The Community Market at Families Forward

From its modest beginnings in 1984, providing shelter for families facing homelessness, Families Forward has evolved into a leading and influential nonprofit organization in Orange County. I was pleased to participate in the Grand Opening of the Community Market, an on-site market at Families Forward! Congratulations to the Families Forward team on this exciting milestone. Thank you to Madelynn Hirneise, CEO, and the dedicated team and donors who brought this vision to life. Your hard work and generosity truly impact food security for our community.

Irvine Business Complex Town Hall

It was great to join Central Park West residents at a Town Hall to discuss the Jamboree/Michelson Pedestrian Bridge project. Thanks to our Public Works team for their informative presentation and to the HOA for hosting. This beautiful bridge will enhance traffic flow and safety at a busy intersection, featuring a modern design with stainless steel and color-changing lighting.

Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce

I was honored to speak at the Greater Irvine Chamber's Business Advocacy Speaker Series yesterday alongside Assistant City Manager Pete Carmichael. We dove into the issues shaping the future for our businesses and residents. We also had the chance to share details about the City's upcoming innovation and entrepreneurship programs.
